Solipsys is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX) and an industry leader in the development of integrated C4I Network Centric Defense System solutions for both the Domestic and International DoD. Our Digital Technology (DT) Team is growing and searching for an enthusiastic, collaborative, and dedicated team member to be part of the Raytheon Solipsys System and Network Administration Team under Information Technology.

As a member of the team, you will assist in implementation and integration of IT solutions and infrastructure deployments that enhance resiliency and availability of critical services and maintenance of existing technologies deployed throughout the enterprise; building and patching systems; troubleshooting program lab environments; hardening systems per cyber compliance requirements. Additionally, performing network administration by building and deploying new networks, and refining and/or providing troubleshooting expertise to diagnose issues that may present itself within lab environments.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical to convey information in a tactful manner and at the technical proficiency of the audience and keeping up to date with current technology trends and future innovations.

This position is onsite located in Fulton, Maryland.

What You Will Do:

• Windows and Linux system administration of enterprise wide or program/lab related systems, including setting up new and/or maintaining existing environments.

• Administration or support of virtualized environments leveraging a range of technologies including VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix, and Proxmox.

• Administration or support of enterprise domain environments, including Group Policy, SCCM, PKI, DHCP, and DNS.

• Basic network administration of network appliances, implementing of new ACLs of VLANs for a given environment.

• Documenting and reporting of overall system configuration and adherence to any hardening requirements (such as CIS, DISA STIG, NIST, etc) for a given environment and working with Solipsys Cyber Operations group as required for vulnerability mitigations, incident response, and/or compliance efforts.

• Assisting in implementation and integration of COTS solutions and infrastructure deployments that enhance and address Information Technology related projects to provide new capabilities or services, in addition to management and compliance of existing security technologies deployed throughout the enterprise.

• Collaborating with team members to leverage skills and knowledge of enterprise IT solutions to develop, and design future technology solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture security policies.

• Staying up to date with current technology innovations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR  Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in either Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, STEM, or Business. Other degrees may be considered.
  • Security+ Certification or eligible to achieve certification.
  • Understanding of system hardening and security compliance through NISPOM, DISA STIGs, NIST 800-171, including implementation, adherence, and auditing/assessment against control families
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued secret clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Highly motivated with the ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for racking equipment 
  • Ability to communicate well in oral and written form
  • Self-driven and highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Container technologies, Cloud technologies, DevOps concepts, and/or software development experience
  • Proficiency with scheduling and prioritization of workloads based on numerous factors such as schedule, resource availability, and on-demand requests from escalated tickets or emergent requests
  • Proficiency in scripting via bash and/or Powershell
  • A Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), RedHat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), VMWare VCP, or other industry relevant certifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
