Systems Engineer – SLC Management

What is in it for you:

SLC Management is seeking an experienced Operations or Production Support Lead.  They will be providing world class support to all SLC business critical applications and systems. Our IT Ops team resolves issues ranging from general guidance through technical deep dives identifying and resolving complex configuration and 3rd party integration issues. Support teams also interact heavily with other IT teams, both development and support and business teams during North America business hours.

What you will do:

  • Mentor junior team members
  • Drive automation and process improvements across operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally (Canada, USA, Ireland, India)
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of supported systems
  • Proactively identify and resolve systemic issues
  • Ownership for end-to-end defect resolution, analysis and documentation.
  • Manage Releases and Deployments
  • Risk identification and risk mitigation strategies for various operations initiatives
  • Support large Operations programs like Disaster Recovery exercise, planning and execution
  • Drive effective business and technical discussion
  • Participate in hiring process to hire and build/grow team

What you need to succeed:

  • A degree in Computer Science, related technology degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake) including performance tuning and optimization
  • Deep expertise in one of coding platforms: Python, .NET (C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET), PowerShell
  • Extensive experience with Informatica PowerCenter and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of one or more Operating System/ storage/ Network/ Security/ Database administration
  • Windows/Web server experience and understanding
  • Knowledge of application architecture, design methodologies across multiple platforms
  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory)
  • Hands-on experience with one or more job schedulers (Zeke, Autosys, SQL Agent, Apache Ni-Fi)
  • Experience with source control (Git, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
  • Should have good grip on non-functional areas like performance, scalability, security etc
  • Critical reasoning skills, decision making skills

Preferred skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of reporting tools (SAP BO, SSRS)
  • Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Service Management experience, ITIL certification

Salary Range

90,000/90 000 - 140,000/140 000
