System Administrator

This high-performing team of systems engineers is enhancing the geolocation infrastructure supporting the warfighter. This team is on the mission-edge, integrating products and services, implementing and improving container technologies, creating efficiencies through automation, and supporting operational environments. They challenge their team members to think outside the box for innovative solutions and help each other grow their skills. The ideal candidate for this team is looking to expand their hands-on experience, supporting the full lifecycle of their products, and going beyond traditional solutions to strengthen the fabric supporting the global geolocation infrastructure.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on IT assignments requiring technical expertise to implement systems administration strategies to support the project's technology functions
  • Ensure systems are kept in the required configuration profile, including patch maintenance and changes as required by the evolution of production environments using automated systems
  • Write scripts to automate administrative functions and provide a more consistent workflow for the program
  • Help define security needs to include Secure the Enterprise
  • Perform software infrastructure upgrades, IAVA Patches, continual system QA, and CM
  • Respond to internal trouble ticket system requests to repair systems that are not responding correctly.  Document repair in the ticketing system and, if appropriate, publish in the solutions database.  Communicate issues and timeframes for issue resolution to the customer.
  • Helps to build and maintain documentation for production and development systems
  • Check alarms and performance issues in vSphere
  • Create and manage virtual machines
  • System checks
  • Handle vendor cases for failed disks and service reviews
  • Create and execute backup policies
  • Perform file, virtual machine, and home directory restores

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Thorough understanding of LINUX (Red Hat/CentOS 7 or greater)
  • Experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation
  • Experience planning and implementing storage and network solutions for complex, high-performance systems composed of Linux-based hardware platforms
  • Moderate understanding of containers (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Experience implementing STE/STN tools
  • VMware familiarity.
  • Network Storage/NETAPP
  • Veritas Netbackup familiarity​

Clearance Required:

TS/SCI w poly

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Years of Experience:

Fifteen (15) years’ experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Required Certifications:

Cyberspace Workforce Improvement Program (CWIP) certification IAT Level 2 is required.
