The System Administration Analyst (SA) is a technical resource for college infrastructure technology, focused on client-systems (mobile devices, desktop/laptop computers) and customer support systems. The SA will coordinate computer builds/images, software installation and maintenance processes, and necessary scripting and integrations to efficiently manage thousands of computing endpoints for the college. This role is also accountable for the primary customer support and ITSM tool, tracking support tickets, customer requests, knowledge base articles and service level agreements. Performs necessary software upgrades in accordance with ITIL and other best practices. Serves as a technical resource on projects and other scheduled work activities requiring systems management expertise. Evaluates and researches new and existing products, procedures and/or workflows needs associated with server hardware and systems software. Provides technical guidance pertaining to the capabilities, limitations and requirements of current and developing client management approaches, including university wide shared directory services/systems, communication tools, and productivity software.
Additionally, the SA serves in a support role to the college’s Senior Systems Administrator who is responsible for effective engineering, design, build and management of on-premise and cloud physical and virtual servers, backup, storage and operating systems, including disaster recovery solutions. The SA will have access to the State of Ohio Computer Center, in which EHE servers are maintained and under direction of the Senior Systems Administrator, may perform basic network switch management in college-specific spaces.
