BorgWarner is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” person to join as an IT Manager for our location in Kakkalur, India
The IT Manager is a liaison between IT and the business, oriented toward emerging needs. Driving digital transformation by digital technologies to create new or modify existing business processes, culture, and customer experiences to meet changing business and market requirements. He/She has significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both IT and the business. This person needs to have the ability to gather business requirements and convert them into projects or change requests focusing on the value-add creation. Experience in manufacturing (prefer Automotive) process is needed.
He / She is also responsible for overall delivery of IT services to Kakkalur location. The IT Manager manages customer expectations/needs and utilizes IT metrics/scorecards/reporting to communicate between the business and Global IT Organization. The IT Manager must be able to effectively work with other IT Service Teams as well as the different functional areas in your location. Works closely with site application owners and Service teams to ensure quality IT services for sites of responsibility.
Key responsibilities
- Drive Local IT Initiatives: Identify and propose improvement opportunities aligned with plant operations and strategic goals, capturing and translating business goals and needs into structured IT requirements
- Translate Strategy into Action: Convert Site business goals into actionable IT support plans and align resources to meet evolving demands in coordination with global standards. Transfer Global BorgWarner target and rollout into local actions.
- Lead Project & IT Investment Planning: Develop business cases, prioritize IT projects, and coordinate approvals to ensure readiness and value delivery.
- Execute and Oversee Projects: Lead or support execution of local IT and application projects, ensuring timely delivery, scope alignment, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Act as Site IT Lead: Coordinate all local IT needs and collaborate with plant and regional stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment including performance and KPI reviews.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and grow Site Technicians to maintain service consistency and build technical capabilities.
- Lead Local IT Operations: Ensure daily system uptime, responsive support, and effective incident response across the site.
- Advise & Enable Site Leadership: Provide guidance on IT service impact and opportunities that support business strategy and continuous improvement.
- Manage Budget & Financials: Oversee site-level IT budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement efforts including financial and operational reviews to identify opportunities and implement improvement actions.
- Service & Infrastructure Management: Oversee hardware/software lifecycle, coordinate cross-functional IT delivery, and monitor service performance against SLAs. Identify recurring issues and collaborate with service teams to ensure root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
- Security & Change Execution: Implement site-level IT security protocols, manage approved changes, and maintain documentation to support operational continuity.
- Ensure Transparency & Vendor Oversight: Maintain visibility into site-specific IT services and manage vendor relationships, including contracts and performance.
- Own Site-Level IT Performance: Manage the IT performance scorecard and use insights to drive improvements and escalate delivery challenges.
