Job Title: Sr Interface Analyst/Programmer

Position Summary:
Manage the design, development and implementation of real time and batch interfaces amongst diverse healthcare information systems. Use strong technical skills, knowledge of healthcare specifics software systems and general information technology to assist in the development and execution of strategic and tactical integrations plans.

Key Responsibilities:


CONSULTING AND ANALYSIS:
Consult with users to understand and provide advice on department systems integration and operational issues related to interfacing.
Consult with departmental system venders on interface design, development and operation.
Develop an understanding of the Unity Health System business environment. Identify opportunities for improvement through interfacing, integration and other technical solutions.
Assist with development of standards for Unity Health integration.
Recommend ways to improve system integration, performance of existing interface design and technology, and problem resolution based on evaluation of alternative approaches.


TECHNICAL:
Analyze interface requirements and develop interface specifications.
Use the data manipulation and communication configuration features of the interface engine to develop interfaces to and from departmental or host systems.
Establish network connectivity between interface engine and sending and/or receiving systems.
Enhance technical skills through self-study and appropriate training.
Maintain functional and support documentation on developed interfaces.
Develop through test plans and coordinate testing effort with users.
Provide consultation services to application programmers on the development of interfaces for Unity Health systems, as needed.
Apply upgrades and maintenance to interface engine hardware and software. Perform system administration functions for the interface engine.
Provide problem resolution support for production interfaces and the interface engine, including off-hours on-call.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Assist with interface project estimation, planning and tracking of development and implementation tasks. Anticipate dependencies and delays and brings them to the project manager's attention. Coordinate with other project activities and staff. Take responsibility for completing activities on time.
GENERAL: Perform other support or development tasks as needs or opportunities arise.

Desired Attributes:

  • Well-developed programming skills.

  • Interface experience using interface engine products and familiarity with HL7 formats.

  • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP.

  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and MS-SQL.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • 3 to 5 years of related programming experience.

$80,000.00 - $110,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
