Your part in St Andrew’s War Memorial
Answer incoming calls and transfer to appropriate areas of the hospital including communication requests for staff and doctors within the hospital.
Answer all calls to the Code Phone and respond in accordance with the Emergency Response protocols.
Act as the communications officer in the event of a hospital wide emergency.
Prepare patient medical records for next day admissions.
Complete data entry to support other departments of the hospital.
Complete patient health fund checks and paperwork for patient transfers
Complete chart filing to assist the medical records team.
Other administration duties or coverage to assist the Patient Administration team
What makes a difference for us?
Previous Hospital Administration / Switchboard experience highly desirable.
Availability to work on a rotating roster that goes over 24/7
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds
Adaptability to changing priorities, with the ability to shift focus day to day
Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to independently prioritise your workload
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your day to day work
An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, providing support as required
Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
