A Delivery Route / Swing Driver (Delivery Driver) drives an Off Premise or On Premise route and efficiently delivers product to customers in a safe and timely manner that meets company standards while providing the highest standard of service to all accounts. The Delivery Driver safely drives all company vehicles and operates company equipment in compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
A Delivery Driver can be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job:
WORK TASK
Delivery Driver (60%)
Drives assigned Off Premise or On Premise route, delivering product to customers in a safe and timely manner.
Completes deliveries to all scheduled accounts in accordance with Delivery Service Guidelines while adhering to all federal, state and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of the Andrews portfolio of products.
Unloads, loads, and moves product repetitively using appropriate equipment throughout shift while maintaining a clean, clutter-free and organized work area and backroom in all retail accounts; uses appropriate equipment throughout shift while adhering to all federal, state and local regulations regarding the sale and merchandising of beer, malt beverages, spirits and other beverages.
Stocks all windows, cold boxes, coolers, hot shelves and displays in retail accounts quickly and efficiently.
Rotates product to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Adheres to Andrews service guidelines as required.
Adheres to and administers Swap and Drop procedure if needed.
Maintains necessary documentation and submits reports as needed providing delivery information, damaged product, returns and inventory control.
Maintains all company equipment and vehicles in good condition and appearance.
Completes pre/post-trip daily vehicle inspections to ensure all are in good condition and appearance is acceptable.
Adheres to all applicable driving and safety regulations.
Performs all delivery duties in a friendly, professional manner.
Delivery Account Management (25%)
Validates and completes the customer order delivery at each customer account on daily route.
Checks and verifies product order with customer for accuracy and quality.
Collects payment when necessary and obtains signature on receipt of delivery.
Performs required inventory/merchandising tasks as applicable in each customer account.
Manages and provides direction to assigned Delivery Assistant to ensure proper product handling and delivery, and exceptional customer service.
Provides in market direction to ensure the Delivery Assistant understands and can perform their support role.
Account Collaboration and Communication (15%)
Effectively communicates issues and opportunities to the Sales team (DSM or Account Manager) or District Delivery Manager.
Collaborates with Hometown Sales team to support customer relationship building with in each customer account.
Delivery Route Driver Lead Responsibilities
Provides guidance and direction to a team (hometown) of Drivers and Delivery Assistants as needed to support the successful completion of the daily delivery schedule, solve/resolve problems in market and provide consistent training for new and existing team members.

QUALIFICATIONS
A qualified candidate for the Delivery Driver role should satisfy the expectations below:
REQUIRED
Class A CDL License for Route and Swing Drivers
Previous Commercial Driving Experience
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Familiarity with GPS devices
Ability to Perform in a Physically Demanding Role on a Daily Basis; and Work in Extreme Weather Conditions
Ability to Read and Understand English
Ability to Perform Basic Math and Write Legibly
PREFERRED
High School Graduate or Equivalent Certificate
Previous Distribution Business Experience
Previous Intrastate Driving Experience
Good Communication Skills
Prior Beer, Spirits and/or CPG Industry Experience
Previous Retail or Customer Service Experience
Previous Physically Demanding Work Experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to pull/push a load up to 100 lbs.
Off Premise and Transfer Driver: Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products; up to 55 lbs.
On Premise Driver: Requires heavy and repetitive lifting/placement of products; up to 165 lbs.
Requires ability to tolerate working in an environment with inside/outside ambient/extreme temperatures.
Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.
Driving is required during the workday.
Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday.
Ability to use a personal computer for tasks such as communicating via email, inputting data and other forms of documentation using company and industry software.
Ability to speak, hear, and see is required to communicate with employees, and to operate varied machinery, equipment, computers and vehicles.
Hand-eye coordination and fine manipulation skills are necessary to operate computers and various facility machinery and equipment.
Must be able to maintain a current/valid driver's license.
Ability to perform job functions in compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety policies and best practices.
Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
