SVP - Workplace Engineering
Job Description:
As an Engineering Lead on the Enterprise Technology Team, you will play a hands-on role in shaping and maintaining the firm’s next-generation user environment. This position involves partnership and accountability for end-to-end endpoint engineering across Windows, macOS, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), while also guiding a team of engineers on critical, high-impact projects.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing endpoint solutions to ensure reliability, security, and scalability. In addition, you will leverage endpoint telemetry and Digital Employee Experience (DEX) tools to monitor performance, enhance user experience, and proactively address issues.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with leadership skills to deliver consistent, modernized systems that align with business needs and drive operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Continuously advance Blackstone’s technology landscape by researching and evaluating new and emerging technologies
Design, build, refine, and maintain a world-class endpoint environment across Windows, macOS, and VDI platforms
Oversee endpoint lifecycle management, including deployment, patching, upgrades, and end-of-life processes
Architect and implement automation solutions to ensure a consistent, secure, and reliable environment while reducing operational overhead
Apply and enforce security standards, including GPO management and compliance best practices
Implement strategies for performance tuning and capacity planning to optimize system efficiency and scalability
Build efficient, resilient, and well-documented systems to support operational excellence
Author design documents, Service Desk training materials, and lead peer reviews
Troubleshoot complex issues to resolution while embracing a culture of root cause analysis and continuous improvement
Coordinate vendor escalations, acting as a liaison between external support engineering resources and Blackstone teams
Provide mentorship and coaching to junior staff, fostering technical growth and team development
Leverage endpoint telemetry and Digital Employee Experience (DEX) tools to monitor health, improve user experience, and proactively address issues
Required Qualifications:
Has a passion for excellence and interested in growing technically, challenges status quo
Strong understanding of Windows 11, Windows 365 and Office 365
Experience with PowerShell, batch, VBScript, or other automation technologies
Strong understanding of modern management concepts using SCCM and/or Intune and Autopilot (image creation, driver management, software deployment, and patch management)
Experience with designing, implementing and supporting W635
Experience with Windows profile management solutions such as FSLogix, & Citrix UPM
Experience implementing modern patch management practices for frequent operating system and application updates. For example, Windows 11 feature updates, Microsoft Office 365 update channels, and cumulative preview Windows Updates
Support of Windows folder redirection, ideally to OneDrive
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Group Policy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Managing workload using agile methodologies including sprints, including story points
