SVP - Head of Legal for Treasury, Financing and Resolution Planning
Position Summary:
The Head of Legal for Treasury, Financing and Resolution Planning brings together the legal support for all activities, both internal, client-facing and regulatory, actively engaging State Street’s balance sheet, capital and liquidity. The role integrates leadership in counseling Global Treasury, Resolution Planning, Global Credit Finance and Secured Financing into one position to optimize consistent communication, counseling and decision-making. It requires a seasoned, practical and commercial approach to optimize revenue and regulatory outcomes, while promoting innovation, efficiency and staff development for the future.
The role reports the Executive Vice President and Global Head of Corporate and Regulatory Legal and has managerial responsibility for approximately 6 experienced lawyers globally (including matrix management ex-U.S.) and one paralegal.

What you will be responsible for
The Head of Legal, Treasury, Financing and Resolution Planning will be expected, among other activities, to:
Advise and support compliance with evolving capital, liquidity, resolution planning, governance and related regulatory requirements globally, including related activities
Negotiate and develop sophisticated lending, financing and investment relationships and activities on behalf of both State Street and its clients associated with State Street’s Secured Financing, Global Credit Finance and Treasury operations
Strategically align advice on legal, regulatory and commercial aspects of Treasury’s asset and liability management and planning
Counsel and implement legal aspects of State Street’s several recovery and resolution plans under various jurisdictions globally, including critical support agreement, governance and playbooks, clean funding pathways, internal and external contractual arrangements, communications and related tabletop exercises
Advise and manage Resolution Support Matters Committee at State Street Corporation Board and Board of Directors of State Street Intermediate Funding
Oversee legal support and corporate/securities compliance and disclosures associated with capital stock, debt and other securities offerings/redemptions by State Street Corporation and its affiliates, including State Street Bank and Trust Company and State Street Corporation’s common share repurchase program
Advise on applicable legal and regulatory aspects of jurisdictional expansions, legal entity compliance, intercompany transactions and M&A
Support and counsel regulatory examinations and represent State Street in regulatory engagements/meetings and before industry groups
The role will be required to work closely with and counsel other members of the Senior Legal Team, most notably in Corporate, Regulatory, Markets and International and demonstrate strong collaboration and communication abilities.

Develop and manage outside counsel relationships, including budgets, and reduce reliance on outside counsel to efficiently and cost-effectively achieve business objectives
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Significant expertise in the financial services industry, lending/financing/investment transactions, markets and intermediaries, engagement with clients, regulators and external partners and associated regulatory compliance and industry practices,
Superior communication, client service, drafting and writing skills, attention and fiduciary sensibility
Experience and ability to excel, individually and collaboratively, in a multidisciplinary, highly regulated environment, communicating with various levels in a large, global firm
Minimum 12 years of related work experience
Juris Doctorate and bar admission
Flexibility and an eagerness to learn

Salary Range:
$225,000 - $337,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
