Join our Dublin-based Marsh McLennan Innovation Centre as a Sustaining Engineer supporting our Generative AI capabilities. In this role, you will focus on maintaining, supporting, and continuously improving our existing AI systems and solutions to ensure their reliability, performance, and scalability.

What You Can Expect:

  • Be a key contributor to the ongoing health and enhancement of MMC’s Generative AI platforms with strong executive visibility.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, resolve incidents, and optimize system performance.
  • Work within an Agile environment to support production systems, implement improvements, and document processes.
  • Contribute to the broader MMC Tech ecosystem by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for Generative AI systems and related infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, incidents, and bugs in a timely manner.
  • Monitor system performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stability and efficiency.
  • Document system configurations, support procedures, and incident resolutions to build a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement patches, upgrades, and process optimizations.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for sustaining engineering, including standards for prompt engineering and solution reuse.
  • Identify opportunities to automate support tasks and improve operational workflows.

What You Need to Have:

  • Experience supporting and maintaining modern software systems, ideally with exposure to frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Practical knowledge of backend technologies like NestJS, NodeJS, Python or similar stacks.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and system integrations.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and resolution.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Experience with Kubernetes and/or MongoDB in a production support context.
  • Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their operational considerations.
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering techniques and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) as applied to sustaining AI solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in Agile teams.
