As a Systems Engineer, you’ll design, integrate, and optimize complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. Your expertise in systems thinking and problem-solving is essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop advanced solutions to intricate processes and writing system specifications. You’ll be responsible for analyzing requirements, defining system architectures, conducting thorough testing, and ensuring seamless integration of subsystems. Additionally, you’ll identify and mitigate risks, confirming that our systems meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.
A Sustaining Automation Engineer responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, optimizing, and improving automation and robotic systems. The role requires strong technical expertise in PLCs, robotics, SCADA, mechanical systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies, combined with effective cross-functional collaboration and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automation and semiconductor equipment
Diagnose and resolve PLC, robotics, SCADA, vision system, and connectivity issues
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime
Develop, modify, and optimize PLC and robotic programs
Design and validate robotic structures and end effectors
Calibrate parts, sensors, and components according to specifications
Update engineering specifications, drawings, and sustaining documentation
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Vendors to resolve technical issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance
Ensure compliance with Applied Materials standards, SEMI regulations, and EHS requirements
Support spare parts management and supplier coordination
Maintain a positive and proactive approach to challenges
Competencies
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, robotics, mechatronics or other relevant studies.
5 years of relevant hands‑on experience in automation, robotics, or sustaining equipment.
Expert-level PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent)
Robotics programming experience (ABB, KUKA, FANUC, or similar)
Knowledge of robotic structure design, kinematics, and end effector integration
Proficiency in automation hardware and control system troubleshooting
Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial networks
Understanding of vision systems and automated assembly processes
Industry 4.0 knowledge (IoT, AI, machine learning, cyber‑physical systems)
Mechanical assembly and alignment experience
Strong technical documentation and interpretation skills
Skilled in diagnostic tools and calibration of sensors, actuators, and precision components

Analyze equipment performance data to identify cost savings and upgrade needs
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements
Manage spare parts inventory and cost control
