AE-RA-Tuteur / TA-RA-Tutor : $31.89 ou/or $50.25 (2024-2025)

The academic year starts on September 1 and ends on August 31.

Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.

These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Requirements and Nature of Work:

Nature of work :

We are looking for a Sustainable Finance Program Assistant to support sustainability focused programming and initiatives within the Financial Research and Learning Lab. The Program Assistant will assist with the creation, updating, and maintenance of asynchronous student learning modules used across the Lab’s training portfolio. This includes revising the learning units for the Equi-T Program, which teaches students how to analyze companies using the lab’s databases and how to effectively integrate ESG considerations, with the intent to also expand the curriculum with portfolio management modules focused on responsible investing. This may include work with the Lab’s website, LibGuides, Brightspace/D2L Virtual Campus, and marketing or outreach materials. The Program Assistant will contribute to the design of videos, tutorials, graphics, and other learning objects. The Assistant may be asked to provide voiceover recording for video modules in both English and French. Access to required software and training will be provided.

The project is already underway. The program assistant will provide support for project activities between June and August 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to devote approximately 15 hours per week to the project and will submit weekly reports on their tasks and worked hours.

Required Qualifications :

  • Fluently bilingualism in French and English: the incumbent must be able to read, write, and record their voice in both English and French
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the University of Ottawa
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly for instructional or student facing content
  • Excellent organizational abilities, professionalism and keen attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a Windows and Microsoft 365 online environment. Work will be completed on a Windows workstation.
  • Ability to learn new software and database user interfaces quickly

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are not required but will be considered assets. Applicants who meet some, but not all, of the following are still encouraged to apply:

  • Experience creating multimedia content and/or learning objects (videos, graphics, etc.)
  • Experience using Brightspace, LibGuides or other virtual learning environment
  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in, finance or capital markets, particularly experience with valuation models and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) integration
  • Experience conducting research and navigating financial databases such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and Capital IQ
  • Bloomberg certifications (especially Bloomberg ESG Certificate)
  • Completion of courses at the graduate or undergraduate level in a relevant discipline, including Finance, Management, Information Studies, Economics, Sustainability, and Communications.
