We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sustainable Asset Lead with 7-10 years of experience to join our dynamic Sustainability Consulting team. This role is looking for a client facing, subject matter expert with P&L responsibility. It is an ideal opportunity for a professional who possesses a strong foundation in building systems and services or mechanical engineering combined with expertise in sustainable design and building performance. You will play a crucial role in guiding our clients toward a more sustainable and low-carbon future, integrating environmentally sound practices into every stage of their projects.

What this job involves: 

 

Contribute to the overall success of our Sustainability Consulting team through: 
 

  • Direct leadership responsibility for planning and effective delivery of services to clients and stakeholders 

  • Leading the delivery of work to support Sustainable Building client programs or projects, including certification, site performance assessments and RCx 

  • Leading the formulation and implementation of Net Zero Carbon pathways for new and existing buildings, including assessing current carbon footprints and developing decarbonisation strategies. 

  • Applying mechanical engineering expertise to advise on efficient HVAC systems, renewable energy integration, and other building services to optimize energy and environmental performance. 

  • Delivering accurate, high-quality, engaging, and client-ready outputs, including reports, presentations, workshops, and analytical models. 

  • Advising clients on compliance with relevant environmental regulations and sustainability goals. 

  • Support sales initiatives and identify strategic areas for new business development with clients/stakeholders, creating new solutions to drive the industry forward 

  • Thought leader responsible for employee development and sharing of industry best practices 

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • A minimum of 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical building services consultancy, building design, specification or operation 

  • Experience of RCx and existing building performance optimisation 

  • Experience working with Green Building rating tools for existing buildings 

  • Proven experience in Net Zero Carbon strategy development and implementation. 

  • Excellent attention detail 

  • Experience of P&L responsibility and team management 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences. 

  • Project management skills, including managing deliverables to time and budget. 

  • Proven client relationship building capabilities 

 

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills :

  • Experience in improving the sustainable performance of commercial buildings 

  • Building design and performance simulation using tools like IES 

  • Chartered Engineer  

  • LEED AP / BEAM Pro  

  • CCP (BCCB) or CBCP (AEE) certifications
