Location: Paris or The Netherlands

Position summary: 

As a member of the Global Market Sustainability Team, the Sustainability Manager for Benelux, France, Eastern Europe & Nordics will serve as the primary brand figure and market sustainability expert for activities in the region and as part of the global team.

The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in a sustainability or tangential role and be highly skilled in communication and collaboration. This individual must be able to support commercial activity with command of ever-changing and challenging subject matter, educate effectively, field questions and manage objections. The ideal candidate has experience navigating broad sustainability topics in writing and with live audiences, small and large and will make connections between customers’ sustainability commitments and Interface’s corporate sustainability leadership and product offering. This person will collaborate with the salespeople and management on account strategy as it relates to sustainability and ensure that Interface continues to have specifiable differentiation in the market, thus leading to top line sales growth. Additional responsibilities include circular economy market expansion and NGO committee participation, both of which shape the market and mitigate financial and brand risk.

Content development and delivery objectives: 

  • Leverage our mission for brand leadership awareness in marketplace
  • Support salespeople’s ability to drive specifications via sustainability
  • Understand detailed product and building certifications like LEED, WELL, LBC, C2C, Declare, BREEAM and articulate how our products meet such standards
  • Shape presentation and event content relative to sustainability
  • Act as a team member for curriculum curation for sales education and customer training

Essential duties:

  • Primary team member for sustainability-related business development activities
  • Tight collaboration with sales and sales management
  • Collaboration with internal departments including, but not limited to: Strategic Sustainability Team, Supply Chain, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Global Accounts, Contracts, Innovation/Product Development, and Human Resources/Training
  • Public speaking and written communication around challenging sustainability topics
  • Provide training and tools to help sales leverage our sustainability leadership to pursue and close sales
  • Monitoring and reporting back on emerging sustainability market trends to inform the strategic sustainability team.
  • Identify, vet, and develop market-based circular economy opportunities leverage with customers and de-risk an everchanging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) policy landscape, represent region in global circular economy strategy development
  • Maintain extensive network of other sustainability experts, customers including design principals and leaders withing end users via Salesforce and LinkedIn
  • Perform other duties as assigned in an ever-changing landscape

Languages:

 Must be fluent in verbal and written French and English.  Dutch language is desirable.

Work environment: 
Travel varies and can be up to 40% in a given month

Work experience: 
5+ years in similar role 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or similar required
