Position Overview:
The Sustainability Advisor will support the embedding of sustainability practices across JLL's UK Leasing Advisory business line, covering office, industrial, and retail markets. This role combines deep sustainability expertise with commercial real estate advisory skills to deliver comprehensive, forward-thinking leasing solutions while building internal capabilities and market intelligence across all UK leasing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Line Integration
Support the strategic embedding of sustainability across the entire UK Leasing Advisory business line, working with agents across office, industrial, and retail markets to integrate ESG considerations into all leasing activities
Help develop and implement comprehensive sustainability frameworks that enhance service delivery and competitive positioning across diverse property sectors
Training & Capability Development
Support the development and delivery of sustainability training programs for leasing advisory teams across the UK
Help design and deliver educational content tailored to different market sectors and experience levels, ensuring all agents are equipped with current sustainability knowledge and best practices for client engagement
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
Engage regularly with leasing agents across all UK markets to promote sustainability integration and gather market intelligence
Organise and facilitate monthly Leasing Advisory Sustainability Council meetings, including coordinating guest speakers, preparing and distributing agendas, and following up with comprehensive meeting minutes to ensure action item completion
Data Collection & Analysis
Proactively engage with agents to track and document sustainability factors across all JLL transactions in the UK leasing portfolio
Systematically collect data on how sustainability considerations are impacting deal structures, pricing, tenant requirements, and market dynamics across office, industrial, and retail sectors
Research Collaboration & Market Intelligence
Liaise closely with JLL Research teams to transform collected deal data into actionable statistics and market insights for use in client presentations and market reports
Develop comprehensive analysis of sustainability trends, pricing impacts, and market opportunities across different property types and geographic regions
Client Presentation Development & Delivery
Create compelling presentation decks that incorporate sustainability market data and insights for client engagements
Support the delivery of client sustainability market presentations, providing expertise on green building performance, market trends, and strategic recommendations tailored to specific client needs and sector requirements
Content Creation & Communication
Take responsibility for coordinating and developing sustainability content for monthly leasing advisory newsletters, ensuring consistent messaging and valuable insights reach all stakeholders
Create engaging content that highlights market developments, successful case studies, and emerging opportunities in sustainable real estate
Pitch Support & Advisory Services
Provide comprehensive sustainability expertise and content development support for the wider leasing team on client pitches and proposals
Offer specialised advice on green lease clauses, sustainability certifications, and ESG integration strategies that enhance client value propositions and competitive differentiation
ESG Integration & Advisory
Develop and implement ESG frameworks for leasing decisions, advising clients on sustainability criteria for property selection, lease negotiations, and portfolio optimisation
Help support market level sustainability assessments of potential properties, especially around environmental certifications
Liaising with and bringing on board the Sustainable Asset Services team for more detailed analysis including energy performance, environmental certifications, wellness features, and alignment with client ESG objectives
Market Analysis & Intelligence
Research and analyse sustainability trends affecting leasing markets, including regulatory changes, certification programs, tenant demand patterns, and emerging green building technologies
Provide market intelligence on sustainable property availability, rental premiums for certified buildings, and competitive positioning of green assets
Required Qualifications:
Understanding of real estate and strong interest in sustainability
Ability to engage stakeholders
Confidence to speak to a wide range of different people
Attention to detail, especially when dealing with green leases
Interest in building an independent client network
Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
Collaborative approach and mindset
