Job Description:

Parsons are seeking an experienced Surveyor Engineer to support construction surveying and field engineering activities on a major airfield infrastructure project. This role requires strong surveying expertise with experience in apron, taxiway, runway, and airfield pavement works, including horizontal and vertical alignment, grading, and utilities layout.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in surveying for airport or large-scale civil infrastructure projects, ensuring precision, compliance with design specifications, and integration with construction workflows.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform survey setting out for aprons, taxiways, runways, pavements, and associated airfield infrastructure.
  • Verify horizontal and vertical alignment, elevations, grades, and slopes in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications.
  • Ensure accurate positioning of utilities, drainage structures, curbs, and other civil works elements.
  • Review survey data, as-built records, and construction drawings to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Assist civil engineers in verifying contractor work against design specifications and tolerances.
  • Support technical evaluations of site conditions and provide recommendations for corrections if required.
  • Conduct topographic and construction surveys using total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and other survey equipment.
  • Coordinate with civil, QA/QC, and field engineering teams to ensure alignment of survey data with construction and quality requirements.
  • Support staking, marking, and verification for construction activities including pavements, grading, and drainage works.
  • Coordinate daily with contractors, survey teams, and project engineers to ensure survey activities support construction schedules.
  • Participate in site meetings, progress reviews, and technical coordination sessions.
  • Communicate survey results, deviations, and recommendations effectively to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure surveying activities comply with HSE requirements for airside and construction works.
  • Identify potential hazards during survey operations and follow safety protocols in restricted airside environments.
  • Maintain accurate survey records, field notes, alignment checks, and as-built data.
  • Prepare daily and weekly survey reports documenting layout, measurements, and deviations.
  • Ensure compliance with project documentation standards and data management protocols.
  • Ensure survey activities comply with ICAO Annex 14, FAA, and local airport authority standards.
  • Support audits and inspections by regulatory authorities and project QA/QC teams.
  • Verify contractor adherence to approved survey and construction layouts.
  • Assist senior surveyors and engineers in mentoring junior survey staff.
  • Promote consistent application of survey standards, accuracy, and safety practices among field teams.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in surveying on airport, airfield, or large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in apron, taxiway, runway, and airfield pavement surveying is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with total stations, GPS, laser scanning, and surveying software.
  • Strong knowledge of airfield construction tolerances, grading, and alignment requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil/airfield drawings and specifications.
  • Good coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in operational or restricted airside environments.
  • Experience with 3D/4D survey modeling and BIM integration.
  • Certification in surveying or construction QA/QC practices.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar survey design software.
  • Exposure to international airport standards (ICAO, FAA).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
