The Role:

The Survey Research Coordinator will play a key role in our Annual Partner Survey by coordinating outreach to not-for-profit (NFP) partners across Canada, making scripted follow-up calls and reminders, tracking activity, and recording outcomes. Working closely with the Data team the Survey Research Coordinator will assist with reviewing submissions for completeness and consistency, may supervise a small volunteer cohort, and monitor progress to ensure timely, accurate data collection. This hands-on role offers rich experience in stakeholder engagement, data stewardship, volunteer leadership, and project coordination within a collaborative team environment.

Your Impact:

  • Support the Data Management team in managing outreach efforts to NFP partners, following up on survey answers and data completion.
  • Make outgoing calls to list of contacts (NFP partners) using a call script during specified call window.
  • Track call activity with each contact using Excel spreadsheet provided (date of call, follow-up actions needed, feedback, etc.).
  • Provide support in reviewing and verifying survey submissions as they are received to ensure they are complete, accurate, and consistent.
  • Contribute to the preparation and management of documents detailing required and completed follow-ups actions.
  • Perform other related duties as required/assigned to support the overall goals of the Annual Survey Project.
  • Participate in a 'Food Drop-off Ride Along' to learn firsthand how Second Harvest reduces food waste by supporting NFP organizations across the GTA.


Who You Are:

  • Education: Completion of a minimum of one-year post-secondary education.
  • Customer-oriented Communicator: Comfortable initiating phone calls to Second Harvest contacts, building rapport, and getting information needed. Confident and outgoing.
  • Communicative: A clear, professional communicator with strong phone and email etiquette, able to convey information effectively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Great with Data: Very comfortable working with Excel or spreadsheets and large sets of data.
  • Process-oriented: you are always assessing what works best and are proactive in suggesting more efficient ways of making things happen
  • Quick Learner: Willing to hit the ground running, learn on the job, and resolve situations with a positive attitude.
  • Socially Conscientious: Ability to apply principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as AODA principles for accessible customer service.
  • Support sustainable practices that protect the environment and advance Second Harvest’s No Waste. No Hunger.
