This position is open for recruitment and fully funded following the 2025 Special Legislative Session.

The role: 

Join our team in Bend as a survey analyst! In this role, you’ll lead a survey crew, ensure high quality data collection and help keep projects on track by coordinating with engineers and surveyors. A day in the life:

  • Manage a field survey crew of up to four people.

  • Perform detailed surveys using manual or electronic equipment and communicate survey information.

  • Create three-dimensional topographic, cadastral and other types of maps.

  • Provide staking for transportation projects.

  • Research, compile and evaluate private surveys, county assessor maps, as constructed plans, deeds of ownership and field survey data.

  • Compile and communicate survey needs to the field survey crew.

  • Ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently, accurately and in conformance with legal and design requirements.

  • Train and support employees on survey procedures, equipment and computer software.

  • May require working evenings, weekends and holidays, working overtime, being on call for emergencies and traveling statewide.

  • Work will be outdoors at least 50% of the time and requires working near traffic hazards, heavy equipment, in inclement weather and lifting up to 60 pounds.

Minimum qualifications:

Three years of experience in the field of engineering in land surveying;  

OR

A bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering (civil or transportation-related);  

OR 

An associate degree in the field of engineering (civil or transportation-related) and one year of engineering technician experience in land surveying;  

OR  

An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. 

Note: Related experience, education, and training can include, but is not limited to construction management, forestry, geography, geology, geomatics, mathematics, physics, remote sensing and/or urban planning. 

Special qualifications:

Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

  • Knowledge of mathematics, trigonometry, geometry, land surveying methods and geometric design practices.
