A vacancy has arisen in the lines of our Commodity Managers within strategic procurement, which is a vital part in the procurement and supply chain community.
You will join the Navigation and Surveillance commodity for systems procurement for all Airbus Defence and Space AirPower platforms, which will give you a unique wide vision of the Airbus Defence and Space AirPower current and future business. You will work developing structural relationships with well established worldwide suppliers and managing complex workpackages.
One of the main responsibilities is to develop, and execute, a strategy for your sub-commodities, which will include to get a deep understanding of the market, technology evolution, tendering, negotiations and long-term contract establishment with suppliers. As well supplier analysis (supplier evaluation, supplier financial analysis, etc), risk assessment and management, and make or buy business case, etc. You will develop a solid working knowledge of certain commodity trends including: cost drivers, global pricing, market and industry trends and material lead times to maintain availability of cost-effective supplies of materials, equipment and services.
You will coordinate all activities within the Multifunctional Teams - MFT of your domain (with members from different functions like e.g. Engineering, Finance, PMO, Quality etc.) to safeguard the successful management of your sub-commodity, securing our lines and enabling value for money proposals for our platforms. With your work, you will contribute to the profitability of our company and to the expansion of our successful projects and related services, which is a vital part of Airbus Defence and Space growth strategy.
Commodity management requires a strategic and robust plan to ensure that both value and risk are managed correctly, and innovation is encouraged. The role of a commodity manager is very complex and it has to be undertaken by someone who is capable of understanding markets, the supply chain and how the business works.
