Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute is expanding with the opening of the new 150,000-square-foot Jeffrey and Patricia Cole Building — a state-of-the-art center for advanced ophthalmic surgery, research and education. As an OR nurse in this globally recognized institute, you’ll support a wide range of eye surgeries, from cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial procedures to complex cataract and corneal surgeries, including blepharoplasty and transplants. Featuring eight modern ORs, advanced imaging and dedicated research space, this world-renowned team performs thousands of life-changing procedures each year, helping patients regain and preserve their sight with excellence and compassion. Surgical Technologists, sometimes called “scrub techs,” assist with procedures under the supervision of surgeons and RNs, helping ensure quality patient care before, during and after the operative procedure. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks in the Ophthalmology Surgical Center, such as checking supplies and equipment, setting up sterile tables, passing instruments to the surgeon and sterilizing instruments after procedures. This position offers a unique way to gain hands-on experience in an operative environment while making a lasting difference in the lives of patients and caregivers every day. Ultimately, surgery could not be possible without your support.
This is a part-time role. A caregiver in this position works days and on-call from 7:00am to 5:30pm. Call is rotated for weekends and after hours.
