OverviewResponsible for scheduling surgery, post surgery, pre-operative and post-operative appointments patients as indicated.
What you will do- Schedule surgery, post surgery, pre-operative and post operative appointments. Compile surgery charts and appropriate forms for physician to review. Schedule and coordinator with appropriate facility any needed preoperative surgical tests or clearances needed for patients.
- Copy and send patient surgical forms/information to include labs, H&P forms, etc. and send same to appropriate hospital. Prepare and distribute the weekly surgical posting sheet to the appropriate persons for billing.
- Obtains appropriate authorization thus ensuring optimal reimbursement for services rendered. Able to give clinicals to insurance carriers.
- Identify and complete follow-up measures to resolve issues/concerns (lab, x-ray, OR schedule).
- Ensures accurate and timely order entry, surgical case entry, surgical posting entry, and chart management to ensure organized chart maintenance and accurate OR schedules.
- Collaborates with physicians and office staff to provide for the specialized needs of the patients. Builds trusting collaborative relationships through timely follow up regarding requests and concerns.
QualificationsEducation- High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
Experience- 1 year Surgical scheduling (Required)
Licenses and Certifications- Medical Coding (Preferred)
