Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1293000 and is part of the NC G4, National Guard (G4-CSMS / Manning Document 6021-700).

Major Duties:

  • As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INPSECTOR SUPERVISOR, WS-5801-12, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis; establishes deadlines, priorities, work sequences, plan work assignments based on general work schedules set by supervisor; coordinate work with supporting/related work functions controlled by other supervisors; determine number/types workers needed accomplish specific projects; redirect individual workers to accomplish unanticipated work; inform supervisor of need to revise schedules/re-estimate labor; participate with supervisor initial planning current/ future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, recommendations scheduling projected work; assign tasks performed based on readiness; investigate work related problems as costs/low productivity/determines; implement corrective actions within authority resolve work problems; recommend solutions staffing problems, engineering requirements work operations directed by other supervisors; plan/establish overall leave schedules; determine training needs subordinates; arrange for accomplishment; set performance standards, appraisals subordinate work performance; initiate recommendations for promotion, reassignment; assure tools/ equipment materiel available when needed; perform non-supervisory work; ensure employee compliance with SOP established for activity; ensure use quality conformant products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs; all aspects of Force Protection; physical security, facility/vehicle key control, property accountability, access control; employee protection accordance with established policies/regulations; establish procedures account for all real property, installation property, MTOE property, TDA property, install equipment located/assigned facility accordance with state/federal regulations/policies; qualified, equipped with proper personnel protective equipment, environmental mediation equipment, materials; employees wear appropriate safety equipment, follow pertinent safety precautions; prepare/participates various types readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization/ command support exercises; additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading/ handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance facilities/equipment, serve as a team member to cope with natural disasters/civil emergencies; may serve as member of COMET; performs other duties assigned.

Qualifications: Military Grades: Enlisted (E7 to E8) and Warrant Officer (WO1 to CW4) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (must be in 36 months) In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
