Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY WATERFRONT OPERATIONS MANAGER in the Waterfront Operations Department of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, Newport News (SUPSHIPNN) of SUPSHIP.

Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for the management of project/funds management as they relate to Navy ship construction, repair and conversion contracts.
  • You will oversee the overall planning and timely execution of the project management responsibilities, including development, and assignment, of goals and objectives for subordinate project teams.
  • You will approve the allocation and distribution of funds and resources across projects within the limits of budget, fiscal policy, acquisition and administration of financial and material resources.
  • You will ensure subordinate managers prepare post-availability assessment reports detailing problems encountered and lessons learned with the implementation of continuous improvement actions with ship construction, repair and modernization projects.
  • You will establish program objectives and long-range plans to ensure effective and efficient execution of Government project management responsibilities across all projects/contracts.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing business operations and contract administration to ensure adherence to contract requirements and regulations for shipbuilding, project management, ship conversion, ship repair and modernization technology programs.
