About the role

The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of homelessness services. We believe every person deserves dignity, respect, and access to a safe, affordable and secure home.

As a Casual Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team supporting both the Men's and Women’s Services as required. The team provides support to adults and families through accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral pathways.

This is a casual position based in Alice Springs, NT, reporting to the Team Leader. Pay is in accordance with the SCHADS Level 3 Award.

How you will make an impact

  • Ensure continuity of client care and communicate case plan progress for effective handover

  • Maintain accurate client records and meet administrative requirements

  • Build strong working relationships with staff, case managers, and stakeholders

  • Monitor building activity and security, including CCTV oversight

  • Respond promptly to incidents impacting resident safety, including emergencies, following organisational policies

  • Adhere to centre guidelines, policies, and procedures, reporting breaches in a timely manner

What you will bring

  • Certificate III in Community Services (desirable)

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Experience supporting people for whom English may not be a first language

  • Knowledge of local Aboriginal communities and cultures (highly regarded)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Current NT Driver’s Licence
