Team Leader – AOD Support Worker

Location: Gold Coast Recovery Services – Fairhaven

Classification: SCHADS 6 Status: Full Time + On‑Call Roster

About the Service

Gold Coast Recovery Services provides residential rehabilitation and withdrawal management for people experiencing alcohol and other drug (AOD) dependence. Through strong partnerships and a diverse range of programs—including our core Foundations program—we deliver structured, person‑centred support that promotes long‑term recovery, stability, and wellbeing.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to guide a team of Support Workers across our 56‑bed Residential Rehabilitation Program and 11‑bed Withdrawal Management Unit. This role is central to ensuring safe, high‑quality, client‑focused service delivery and contributing to a positive, recovery‑oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Practice

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations and ensure all shifts are appropriately staffed
  • Ensure meaningful daily activities, supported medication processes, and warm admissions/exits
  • Respond to incidents, manage risk, and support staff with client behavioural concerns
  • Maintain accurate client records and meet all legislative and funding requirements

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, supervise, and develop Support Workers
  • Provide coaching, performance support, and regular supervision
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and collaborative team culture

Practice Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Review service data, feedback, and evaluation outcomes to drive improvement
  • Support the implementation and review of practice models and service processes
  • Ensure completion of annual learning modules for yourself and your team

What You Will Bring

  • Qualification in social work, welfare, community development, or equivalent sector experience
  • Experience in AOD, community services, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and support staff
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Driver’s Licence
