About the Role
The Salvation Army’s Wagga Wagga Recovery Hub (WWRH) provides support to adults across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District who are experiencing Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) related challenges.
Funded by the NSW Ministry of Health as part of the response to the Ice Inquiry, the Hub is a collaborative, co-designed partnership led by The Salvation Army alongside:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new, collaborative service model focused on participant-led recovery and community impact.
Based in central Wagga Wagga, this full-time position (12-month contract) involves working closely with participants, partners, and MLHD clinical teams to provide hands-on support and foster safe, structured, and empowering environments. Some evening (Until 8pm) and Saturday work will be required. NSW Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 3.
How you will make an impact
Provide appropriate support to participants in line with established frameworks and TSA policies and procedures, being accessible and visible to participants to ensure their needs are dealt with promptly.
Provide access and support to Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) staff to operate satellite services from the Wagga Wagga Recovery Hub (WWRH) services as part of the new Integrated Alcohol & Other Drugs Service including clinics for Opioid Agonist Treatment Program (OAT) and Hepatitis C & STI Screening.
Assist addressing to participant needs, administer the program, contribute to case plans, educational group facilitation and provide supervision to participants.
Support with outreach to participants at other services where required including transportation.
Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services.
As part of the NSP, providing sterile injecting equipment and peer support. Delivering brief interventions and health education. Supporting healthcare navigation for individuals who inject drugs. Addressing barriers to accessing services and reducing stigma and discrimination
Keep and maintain accurate records and case notes on data management systems
In line with agreed delegation make decisions consistent with TSA Recovery Services and Centre Policy and procedures in relation to participant/staff matters.
Undertake ad-hoc duties as requested by Management
What you will bring
Minimum Diploma qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management, or related discipline
Completion of 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete during employment)
Understanding of issues faced by people experiencing AOD, gambling, mental ill health, and other disabilities
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
Ability to critically reflect on practice and tailor programs to participant needs
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities Stron
g skills in managing unpredictable behaviours using de-escalation techniques
Computer literacy; experience with MS Teams and SharePoint desirable
Knowledge of WHS obligations and ability to apply them in practice
Current National Police Check and Driver’s Licence required
