Hourly rate - £12.94 rising to £13.72 per hour as of 01/04//26
We are Mears Supported Living Ltd, providing a range of care and support services to people out in the community and in their own homes to enable them to stay as independent as they can.
We are looking for a reliable, fun and empathetic support worker to join our team based in Wishaw area, for a specific service user living in his own home; shift pattern will consist of long day and sleepovers. Shift patterns are as follows:
About the Role:

This is a 24/7 service. Shifts are long day and sleepovers. Staff will be required to be on shift from 9am-9pm on community hours, then 9pm until 9am sleep hours.
You will be required to work every second weekend.
Posts available for full time positions and part time positions.
Successful candidate will support with the following –
Household tasks & maintenance of tenancy
Personal care support
Assistance with medication
Preparation and serving nutritious meals
Social supports of service users choice
Supporting to arranged appointments
About Them:
Our Service user is 27 and has a diagnosis of Ataxic Cerebral palsy, learning disability & Autism. Due to the diagnosis of autism he can find change difficult to manage and it is important that planned appointments are notified on the day, this will avoid any increase in behaviours. At these times staff are required to support, reassure and follow the behaviour support plan and PRN protocol to ensure both staff and service user are safe. There is significant input from the learning disability team, family and social work to ensure staff are supported with challenges faced. Service user is mobile. Service user is nonverbal, however communicates effectively using assistive technology and communication skills he has built up with the current team in place. Behaviours that challenge training will be given to new staff as well as shadowing shifts with experienced staff.
