About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Casual Support Worker to join our dedicated team at the Dooralong Transformation Centre. In this role, you will provide day to day support to participants, ensuring a safe, welcoming and recovery focused environment.

This position will provide effective support to participants across two sites: Berkley Vale and Morisset, NSW, and reports to the Team Leader. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.

You will successfully:

  • Create a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where participant needs and rights are upheld
  • Implement risk management plans, including preventative and mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate daily programs and activities that encourage participation and skill development
  • Support participant self‑determination, safety and stability using recovery‑oriented, person‑centred, strengths‑based and trauma‑informed practice
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to help participants progress toward treatment goals
  • Assist participants to access community supports and services
  • Monitor participant safety and program activities
  • Assist with general duties such as light cleaning, room preparation and participant transport
  • Supervise self‑administration of medication

You will have:

  • A current and valid First Aid Certificate
  • A current and valid NSW Driver Licence
  • Minimum Certificate IV in a relevant field, or equivalent experience/on‑the‑job training
  • Experience working with people experiencing AOD and co‑occurring issues
  • AOD Certificate IV Core Units / AOD Skill Set, or willingness to complete if required
