The Support Technician specializes in ensuring smooth operational flow by performing jam resolution, debris removal, technical cleaning, and materials handling at FORTNA. The role is essential in minimizing system disruptions and supporting Maintenance and Engineering teams as part of a high-performing site support operation.
Responsibilities:

Perform on-site jam resolution, clearing product flow blockages.

Remove debris and maintain system cleanliness through technical cleaning procedures.

Monitor and promptly respond to SCADA system alarms and notifications.

Act as first responder to Customer-reported product jams.

Support Maintenance and Engineering teams by delivering materials, tools, and handling parts.

Empty waste conveyor lines as needed to maintain system integrity.

Transport parts internally in a safe and efficient manner.

Ensure compliance with site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards at all times.

Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of material handling systems.

Ability to quickly assess and resolve system jams (perform jam resolution in non-accessible system areas).

Proficiency in monitoring and interpreting SCADA system alerts.

Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and escalate when necessary.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Strong focus on Safety and compliance, safety-conscious with knowledge of basic site HSE requirements.

Basic understanding of hand tools and maintenance support practices.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Prior experience in material handling, technical, logistics or warehouse operations, maintenance support preferred.

Familiar with (or ready to learn) automated conveyor systems.

SCADA system exposure is a plus.

Forklift or other internal transport equipment certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Other Qualifications Desired:

Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Flexibility to adapt to evolving operational needs.

Team-oriented with a proactive attitude (able to adapt, learn and grow within a dynamic, high-performance team).

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting (up to 25 kg).

Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Manual dexterity to operate tools and machinery.
