Job Description

POSITION TITLE:   Support Staff – Victim Services Division

LOCATION:  District 12 District Attorney’s Office, Rogers County Office in Claremore

STATUS: Part Time

SALARY: Hourly rate based upon experience and qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify for this position, applicants must first enjoy doing a variety of different tasks each day, in addition to possessing the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a legal or social services related field; or a combination of education in Victim/Survivor Services and experience in the victims field.
  • Self-disciplined with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Excellent adaptability skills.
  • The person in this position will be required to talk extensively to victims of violent crime who may be emotionally distraught. Superb listening skills, patience, and empathy are critical.  In addition, qualified individuals must possess proper self-care techniques to manage stress and have crisis response experience or experience in working with victims of violent crime.
  • Excellent work ethics and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer, writing, spelling, data entry, and typing skills.
  • The ability to remain calm with people in crisis and get along with a variety of people from different backgrounds.
  • The ability to learn quickly.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and disassociate self from the effects of listening to and reading of graphic crime information.
