As a part of the Ambulatory clinic, provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate multiple appointments with many multi-specialty clinical services. Participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, from customer service, message distribution, procedure scheduling, encounter registration, and referrals management.
Assist with all aspects of patient care. Answers patient phone calls, verify insurance benefits, prepare charts for clinic and prepare charge tickets for clinic visits. Coordinates organization and standardization of Spine Center forms and ensures proper approval. Manages document flow in the office, including sorting and distribution of faxes and indexing, batching and sorting of documents to be sent to central medical records. Triage patient calls to licensed personnel when medical judgment or advice warranted. Cross cover front reception: arrival of patients, collection and posting of over-counter monies, batch closure. Coordinate clinic schedules, patient appointments and follow up. Obtain authorization and coordinate diagnostic testing for patients as ordered by Spine Center provider. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology. Must work with any and every physician in the Spine Center. Other duties as assigned.
