Job Summary: About the Position: This position is located with the 404th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Dix, NJ Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 13 Months

Major Duties:

  • Serve as a Supply Technician performing stock record accounting for ammunition.
  • Receive training ammunition forecasts that reflect ammunition requirements.
  • Prepare a variety of monthly and quarterly ammunition related reports.
  • Schedule and participate in the quarterly ammunition inventories to verify the general condition, quantity, and location of stocked ammunition.
  • Receive unit-initiated requests for issue and live/residue turn in of ammunition.
  • Compute and maintain information such as receipts, issues and transfers, expenditures, current inventory, and similar data.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) processing ammunition transactions to include adding/deleting stock, posting issues and turn-ins, and transfers; 2) resolving inventory discrepancies through research and analysis; 3) maintaining supply files. 4) determines month resupply requirements and ordering from Joint Munition Command. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
