Your New Role and Responsibilities
Leidos plays a prime systems integrator role in a maritime project. We deliver Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA) capabilities to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).
The project aims to provide deployable systems that can quickly collect, process, and disseminate maritime environmental data. This data is critical for safe naval operations in unfamiliar or remote waters, supporting missions like amphibious landings, disaster response, and mine countermeasures.
Reporting to the site lead and collaborating with a small team, this position will:
Oversee end-to-end supply support activities for systems delivered by Leidos, ensuring that service levels and client requirements are met.
Conduct stocktakes on Contractor Managed Commonwealth Assets (CMCA); maintain accurate inventory records, movement tracking, and asset accounting in line with Defence standards.
Execute timely issuing/receipting of stock items and system kits; manage warehousing, storage, handling, and distribution—including care, preservation, and maintenance of CMCA items while in storage.
Determine demand for Repairable Items (RIs) and Non-RIs; initiate induction of RIs and raise procurement actions for Non-RIs in accordance with policy and process.
Develop sparing recommendations to sustain system availability; prepare materials and contribute to program progress meetings, reporting supply status, risks, and corrective actions.
What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact
Strong capability in stocktaking, issuing/receipting, asset accounting, and warehouse operations (storage, handling, distribution, and stock movement/transportation).
Able to determine requirements (RIs vs Non-RIs), develop sparing recommendations, and think on your feet to contribute to team-based solutions.
Demonstrated experience supporting maintenance teams, including spares management, stock control, and client service delivery.
Experience in working with Enterprise Resourcing Planning Software (MILIS or SAP).
Knowledge of Defence supply chain compliance, care-of-stock in storage, and safe manual handling/warehouse practices; commitment to accurate documentation and audit readiness (desirable).
Desirable
LF forklift licence and/or experience with dangerous goods handling.
Experience with lean warehousing or continuous improvement in supply operations.
Understanding of preservation/packaging standards and transport coordination.
Don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes – if you meet most of them, we encourage you to submit your application. We’re most interested in your strengths, what you want to learn and how far you want to go.
