Supply Specialist-Level 0-1

US-AL-Enterprise Full time

Develop/Maintain standard operating procedures for procurement, stocking, accounting for, transferring, and turning in equipment and other supply items.  Justifies new or additional equipment.  Compiles budget forecasts for Company owned or leased equipment and supplies. Perform all duties related to procurement, storage, receiving, issuing, turn-in, allocation, accounting, and utilization of property, supplies, and equipment. Originate and post stock and equipment status records.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop/Maintain standard operating procedures for use in the procurement, stocking, accounting for, transferring, and turning in equipment and other supply items.
  • Submit invoices for payment.
  • File and maintain invoices for all purchases.
  • Follow-up on requisitions for urgent, special, and mission essential items.
  • Compile budget information by forecasting the need for Company owned or leased equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct follow-up actions on past due items and determine their status.
  • Perform all duties related to procurement, storage, receiving, issuing, turn-in,   accounting, and utilization of property, supplies, and equipment.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to deliver supplies and equipment to various work locations as needed. 
  • Transport supplies into building and storage areas that are located on the second and third floor of government buildings with no elevator.
  • Perform operator maintenance and cleaning of a vehicle.     
  • Keep the Supervisor informed of all supply situations.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Valid driving license with a clear motor vehicle report. One year experience with computer accounting programs and procedures to include Microsoft Access/Excel databases and spreadsheets.  Experience with procurement procedures, property book management, inventory procedures and record keeping.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizational skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and of moving office equipment or furniture with assistance when necessary.  Using stairs to transport supplies to the second and third floor of government buildings with no elevator.
