As a Supply Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the logistical operations of the Oregon Resilience and Emergency Management team. As a Supply Specialist, you’ll manage the receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of supplies, equipment and materials. You’ll also handle purchasing documents and maintain accurate records to ensure secure and efficient supply operations. Summary of Duties
As a Supply Specialist, you will:
Receive requests for supplies/equipment; ensure they are complete; confirm the authority of the individual or agency making the order.
Acquire a range of supplies, food, forms, materials, and equipment within pre-set financial limits or authorized purchasing power; utilize a state credit card, engage in requisition, and purchase order procedures, employ statewide contracts, or follow the informal bidding process.
Receive and examine items to assess their condition and the quantity received; verify that items conform to order specifications; repackage and return any damaged or incorrect goods; inform the vendor of the return status.
Store items such as office supplies, forms, food, excess/surplus property, equipment, and janitorial supplies appropriately for each type of item; rotate items as necessary; provide accessibility to supplies; and maintain the storeroom in a clean and orderly condition.
Deliver items and fill orders; distribute items over the counter; load pallets for shipment on transport vehicles; and package and deliver or ship supplies to various locations.
Dispose of obsolete and excess items, inspect the property to ascertain its condition for use, transfer, or sale, and then reach out to the relevant authority for disposition.
Maintain inventory and perform cycle counts and/or periodic physical inventory as assigned, count and record items electronically and on paper.
Maintain records related to the requisition, purchase, receipt, stocking, inventory, and delivery of supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
Three years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included purchasing a variety of supplies, equipment or materials, maintaining inventory records, and shipping and receiving materials and equipment.

Proven ability to maintain accurate inventory and store records.
Experience in purchasing, receiving, maintaining, and inventorying supplies and equipment.
Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals to answer questions and exchange information.
Attention to detail in reviewing documents such as purchase orders and bids for accuracy and completeness.
Experience ensuring the secure storage of supplies, assessing space requirements, and handling the physical movement of heavy supply boxes.
Proficiency in using computer systems or terminals to enter, update, correct, and retrieve data efficiently.

Working Conditions
This is an on-site role with limited hybrid work flexibility.
This position operates in typical warehouse environments, which may include exposure to loud noise, fluctuating temperatures, and outdoor elements.
During emergency response situations, the role may involve working in adverse weather conditions and non-standard environments.
The position is also subject to emergency response with little or no advance notice.
About the Resilience and Emergency Management Program
The Office of Resilience and Emergency Management's (OREM) purpose is to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to, and recover from natural, technical, and human-caused threats and hazards. The unit works closely with federal, state, local, and tribal governments; a wide array of private partners; ODHS programs and disaster survivors. OREM and the Office of Health, Safety and Emergency Services work together to help ODHS programs in their work to keep Oregonians they serve safe during disasters. OREM is also responsible for mass care (primarily shelter and meals) following a disaster and for emergency social services during the recovery period.
