Hours may vary, typically 6AM-230PM. Position includes supervisory responsibilities of team at offsite storeroom location.

Pay Range

$30.70 - $46.05

Major Responsibilities:
  • Determines organizational/staffing requirements and schedules the flow of materials. Based on user department needs, assigns and adjusts schedules to meet workflow requirements and to improve service effectiveness. Evaluates processes and develops and implements process improvement plans while reducing costs.
  • Prepares, distributes and transports supplies and equipment for safe and appropriate distribution to facilities, departments, or other entities in a timely manner in response to issue requisitions, customer requests, defined replenishment schedules and purchase orders. Resolves customer service issues, deals with customer concerns; and prepares responses to customer issues and problems.
  • Sets reorder points and reorder quantities in such a manner that balances efficiency (high product turnover) while avoiding stock outs or call downs.
  • Monitors and ensures the efficiency and effectiveness for the following operations including, but not limited to, warehousing, distribution, shipping/receiving, supply replenishment, equipment distribution and supply inventory levels to include computer program applications and continued file maintenance.
  • Receives incoming materials and equipment and inspects/verifies the accuracy and the condition of the items before signing for the delivery. Ensures efficient and accurate record-keeping systems to verify receipt, storage and distribution of supplies/equipment.
  • Provides excellent customer service to Nursing and other departments in terms of supply availability, prompt response to questions/requests and ensures front line team members consistently meet supply/equipment related patient/departmental needs.
  • Collaborates with system Procurement and Sourcing to resolve issues regarding purchasing and contract compliance and also works with distributors and manufacturers to resolve order/delivery issues.
  • Maintains financial accountability within the department by managing department assets, inventory control, accounting functions, ordering/receiving, equipment, supplies, and staff scheduling.
  • Performs physical inventories on a cycle basis to ensure the accuracy of perpetual inventory records and maintains a stock rotation system to ensure first-in-first-out inventory control. Evaluates and recommends the addition of new inventory items, reviews stock status and reorder reports and identifies and disposes of obsolete inventory. Warehouses and maintains inventory levels and performs issues and credits for supplies/equipment as necessary. Controls warehouse/storeroom to reduce inventory costs without creating stock-out situations and increasing the inventory turnover rate.
  • Maintains security, orderliness, and cleanliness in all working areas while providing for the continual checking, rotation and removal of outdated and/or damaged materials.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • A valid drivers license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Education Required:
  • Associate's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business or related field.

Experience Required:
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in in logistics, distribution, and materials management including experience at a lead or senior level.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Knowledge of material handling (receiving, stocking, and distributing of supplies/equipment), warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in problem solving, decision-making, and initiative.
  • Ability to function well under pressure and conditions of frequent interruption.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, and leadership.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or similar products. Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of material management information systems, including IREQ, CERNER, Medipak and the AIMS equipment tracking systems is preferred.
  • Ability to operate a hand-held computerized PAR supply replenishment system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of JCAHO and OSHA requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to use, material handling equipment such as but not limited to pallet movers, order pickers, reach trucks, and miscellaneous supply transporting equipment in warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business need.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, have ability to lift, bend, squat, and twist the majority of the workday and crawl, kneel, and climb throughout.
  • Must be able to:
  • lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead.
  • lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
  • lift and carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to:
  • push/pull with 20 lbs. of force.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the duties of the job including but not limited to data entry into ERP, data entry into hand-held computers, operation of material handling machinery where applicable (i.e., Reach trucks, order pickers, pallet movers in warehouse environment).
