Essential Job Statements
Operational Management:
Inventory Management - Maintain and replenish OR supply locations based on PAR levels and usage trends. Monitor expiration dates and ensure sterile supplies are rotated properly.
Stocking and Distribution - Deliver supplies to operating rooms, restock par carts, and maintain supply levels in various storage locations. Maintain clean and organized supply areas.
Collaboration and Support - Work closely with OR staff to anticipate needs for upcoming procedures ensuring appropriate stock is available, accounting for fluctuations in usage, and act as a resource for the team.
Troubleshooting - Work in collaboration with other Supply Chain resources, such as Procurement and Inventory Control, to troubleshoot critical supply constraints. Utilize approved sub database to ensure there are no stock outs. If there is no approved sub, team member will work with Value Analysis and the OR Clinical Team to identify appropriate sub products.
Follow infection control and sterile handling protocols.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Serve as a lead team member and mentor for new employees.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
Demonstrates the ability to perform other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department.
Accepts alternate assignments, as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Years and Type of Required Experience:
3+ years of experience in healthcare supply chain experience.
Years and Type of Preferred Experience:
3+ years of experience in healthcare supply chain experience in a procedural environment.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Familiarity with replenishment, low unit of measure or point of use inventory process. General understanding of procurement. Logistics, warehousing and distribution
Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterile supplies, and OR protocols.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral), across multiple teams.
Previous experience using a personal computer with Microsoft office applications.
Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, JDA) and other office-based software.
Experience with barcoding and other logistics process and systems.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Clinical/Procedural area experience; skills in:
Knowledge of Surgical Supplies & Instruments
Case Cart Preparation & Preference Card Use
Sterile Technique Awareness
Coordination with OR Schedulers & Nurses
Emergency Supply Fulfillment (e.g., during trauma or urgent surgeries)
