ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear’s dynamic Global Supply Chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel factories and 20 footwear factories worldwide. We pride ourselves on being able to get products to market quickly, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswear’s Supply Chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers’ ever-changing needs.

The Supply Chain Portfolio Manager supports the Global Supply Chain by setting the “North Star” for capability pillars, translating strategic vision into actionable roadmaps, and overseeing cross-functional portfolio execution to deliver outcomes aligned to service, growth, and efficiency.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Strategy:

  • Lead sessions to define each capability pillar’s strategic vision—WHY (customer & enterprise value; connection to Supply Chain 2030), HOW (the capability will operate in the future), and WHAT (coherent opportunity set with action plan).

  • Build clear, multi-year roadmaps grounded in the strategic vision (initiatives, programs, projects, and capabilities), including success metrics and measurable outcomes.

  • Apply subject matter expertise in sequencing, prioritization, and resourcing, maintaining core capability roadmaps to ensure structured delivery and impact.

  • Ensure linkage between strategy and execution, connecting vision to programs and projects across the enterprise and supply chain ecosystem.

Communication & Engagement:

  • Connect supply chain strategy to operations and teams so all stakeholders understand vision, outcomes, and their roles.

  • Communicate with clarity and influence to diverse audiences (executives, senior leaders, SMEs), simplifying complex ideas and driving alignment.

  • Shape content for key engagement moments and coach business leads on program and project delivery.

Insights & Innovation:

  • Bring deep understanding of industry dynamics, market conditions, emerging technologies, and macro trends to inform prioritization and decision-making.

  • Use advanced analytical thinking to frame problems, develop hypotheses, and recommend innovative solutions.

  • Proactively identify issues, risks, and dependencies across capability portfolios; surface insights that accelerate outcomes and mitigate risks.

Leadership:

  • Oversee execution of the capability portfolio: manage cross-functional programs and projects—or coach business leads managing delivery—to ensure measurable results.

  • Foster innovation and collaboration, building highly engaged, cross-functional teams that challenge orthodoxies and adopt new approaches.

  • Act as a strategic thought partner; build trusted relationships across internal and external stakeholders to enable consensus and shared goals.

  • Demonstrate mastery of project/program management disciplines; hold self and teams accountable, embracing lessons from setbacks to improve future outcomes.

  • Assigned cross-functional, complex strategic work with broad impact.

YOU ARE

  • A leader with strong executive presence, inspiring confidence among leadership and teams.

  • A strategic thought partner who applies critical thinking to develop future-ready capabilities and translate vision into action.

  • Deeply knowledgeable about industry dynamics and market conditions, ensuring clear linkage between strategy and execution.

  • A collaborator who fosters innovation, builds highly engaged cross-functional teams, and drives transformation.

  • A coach who helps teams challenge orthodoxies and adopt innovative approaches to deliver outcomes aligned to supply chain objectives (service, growth, efficiency).

  • A relationship builder who drives alignment and consensus across internal and external stakeholders.

  • A clear and influential communicator who simplifies complexity for diverse audiences.

  • A disciplined program and project management practitioner who ensures structured execution and measurable results, and who embraces accountability and continuous improvement.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of supply chain functional experience or strategy experience (internal or consulting).

  • Experience building and maintaining capability roadmaps—including sequencing, prioritization, and resourcing.

  • Proven success overseeing or coaching cross-functional programs and projects across enterprise capability teams, technology, and processes.

  • Ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers.

  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.

  • Experience in portfolio management, project/program management, risk analysis, change management, and outcome measurement.

  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills; highly organized with excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

  • Previous experience working across cultures, with awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and to respond to urgent requests with minimal supervisory involvement.

  • A track record of mobilizing teams with a clear vision and sense of urgency to complete changes effectively.
