PURPOSE:

The planning aspect of this role is responsible for all short-term planning requirements for Flipz and Turtles. The short-term planning responsibilities include the scheduling of all intermediate processing (candy manufacturing & packaging resource groups) and finished product packaging operations using a fully integrated, closed loop, ERP system. Operational Execution includes the finite scheduling and on time availability for all seasonal finished goods and new product SKU's by ship dates, while minimizing obsolescence and maintaining a customer fill rate of 98.5%.

The buying aspect of this role is responsible for strategic sourcing and category management for North America ingredients, packaging and Co-Manufactured finished products for Retail Channel, and packaging for seasonal collections. This role will develop bid packages and execute competitive bid events (i.e. - RFQ) for various sized projects. Also responsible for supplier relations, performance management initiatives, and to ensure proper compliance and risk management in all aspects – including managing purchase orders in a timely manner and confirming supplier due diligence. This position will also require active collaborations with key business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop process improvements and greater communication.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:

  • Execute & publish schedules utilizing Capacity Planning and Material requirements programs to ensure Case Fill Rate of at least 98.5% while not exceeding inventory targets and utilizing available labor pool.

  • Maintain system integrity to keep the information accurate and dynamic, thus reducing changeovers on the floor, correct material availability, accurate process flow, and accurate capacity planning.

  • Launch all new Seasonal Collection and New products by ship dates. Member of cross-functional Operations/Marketing team that meets regularly to review the status for all new/seasonal/ongoing products.

  • Ordering of materials to meet production schedules – utilizing MRP to create requisitions for ingredients and packaging.

  • Supports both Godiva and pladis products manufactured, both core and seasonal products.

  • Must launch all new Seasonal Collection and new products by ship dates - highlighting to planning manager and appropriate x-functional peers when there is risk to timing and/or product availability.

  • Actively manage ingredient and packaging inventories to meet working capital objectives and ensure timely delivery of goods.

  • Directing the production floor during the daily operations meeting, and as needed in writing, with instructions when schedule attainment/inventory shortages/quality problems arise and communicate issues to Customer Service.

  • Maintaining the computer system data integrity on a continuing basis (updating product master, keeping work orders updated and properly maintained/closed)

  • Update Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP) report to accurately reflect intended build of work in progress.

  • Reports problems regarding food safety to Supervisor or Manager.

  • Run RFQ’s and Negotiate costs –input costs and other supplier data into systems

  • Attend cross functional team meetings – report updates and manage actions items for yourself and communicate summaries to team mates and manger(s)

  • Represent as SPOC (single point of contact) for multiple supply chain functions (procurement, logistics, operations) for specific project team(s)

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish objectives and productivity initiatives for strategic categories within Retail Channel and North America Marketing

  • Develop and implement category management methodologies within focused categories

  • Enhance supplier relationship and supplier performance management process within focused categories to ensure compliance with Quality and regulatory standards

  • Drive the strategic sourcing process, develop category sourcing strategies and lead cross-functional teams

  • Perform market and benchmark analysis for focused categories

  • Effectively communicate and manage process change within stakeholder groups.

  • Implement global savings tracking methodology and monitor savings tracking working closely with Finance

  • Drive innovation and best practices within strategic categories working closely with Production Development, Quality, Creative Design, Packaging Engineering and Marketing

  • Develop contract negotiation strategies and execute contracts working closely with legal

  • Manage the procure-to-pay process to ensure compliance with internal audit requirements

  • Provide guidance and direction to Supply Chain Procurement specialist to implement strategies and manage daily requirements to support manufacturing

  • Create eSourcing and eAuction events within focused categories

  • Support Global and Local Product Launches and other Initiatives within the North America region

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Essential Criteria

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (including D365 and SAP)

  • Project management skills; ability to actively participate in and lead cross functional project team

  • Confidence and success in problem resolution, resourcefulness and the ability to adjust to changes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, deep attention to detail, professionalism, and demonstrated ability to develop relationships, and maintain business partnerships

  • Demonstrated soft skill experience- including critical thinking, time management, team building, collaboration, professional development, etc.

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent PC skills a must, knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint required

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of MRP and Finite Scheduling processes

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes

  • Solid presentation experience using flexible delivery methods (lecture, computer-based/assisted, performance, facilitation, cooperative learning) and tools/technology is preferred.

  • Strategic Sourcing and category management experience with a major company beneficial

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement and planning

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship

Desirable Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Economics from an accredited institution required

  • Resource Planning (ERP) system

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Base starting salary ranges from $69k - $87k/year. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role includes:
