Job Title: Supply Chzain Network Design Specialist
About the Role
The Supply Chain Network Design Specialist is a strategic technical leader responsible for owning, governing, and evolving complex end‑to‑end supply network models that shape Diageo’s proactive transformation agenda. This role goes beyond technical execution: it requires leadership potential, influence without authority, and the ability to partner with senior stakeholders to shape and recommend business‑critical decisions.
You will lead hypothesis‑driven modelling, synthesise insights into compelling recommendations, and play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation makes informed, strategically aligned choices across the 5C metrics (Cost, Cash, Continuity, Customer, Carbon).
Top Accountabilities
1. Data Leadership & Governance
Accountable owner of all modelling data, acting as the authority for validation, accuracy, and cross‑functional alignment.
Lead the Data Gate process with Business Requestors and Finance, ensuring full traceability, auditability, and formal sign‑off before modelling begins.
Challenge assumptions and proactively recommend better inputs where required.
2. Model Ownership & Technical Leadership
Act as the primary technical leader for constructing, calibrating, and maintaining baseline and scenario models.
Drive continuous improvement of modelling methodology, tools, and process discipline.
Coach others in the team in structured modelling techniques and advanced analytics.
3. Strategic Insights & Recommendation‑Making
Translate complex model outputs into insightful, business‑relevant recommendations that guide senior decision‑makers.
Lead the analytical grounding of the “size of prize”, ensuring clarity of options, trade‑offs, and financial impact.
Strengthen and articulate strategic thinking by identifying patterns, risks, and value opportunities across the E2E network.
4. Scenario Creation & Translation of Business Questions
Proactively challenge and refine hypotheses from stakeholders to ensure scenarios are strategically sound.
Own and lead creation of scenario designs, resilience testing, sensitivity analyses, and trade‑off modelling.
Make informed recommendations on scenario prioritisation and viability.
5. Cross‑Functional Influence & Stakeholder Partnership
Partner with functional leaders across Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, and Commercial to shape inputs, align assumptions, and secure buy‑in.
Demonstrate strong communication and storytelling skills, enabling senior audiences to confidently endorse recommendations.
Influence stakeholders to adopt best‑practice data, governance, and modelling behaviours.
6. Process & Governance Leadership
Champion adherence to the SND Gated Governance Framework and lead on ensuring gates are met with high‑quality outputs.
Actively identify risks and proactively recommend mitigations.
Contribute leadership thinking to the continuous evolution of SND processes.
7. Continuous Improvement & Technical Innovation
Identify and lead improvement initiatives in modelling, tooling, workflow automation, and data pipelines.
Bring forward new methods, analytical techniques, or technologies to enhance team capability.
Experience Required/Skills/Capabilities
Minimum 5+ years in Supply Chain Network Design, S&OP analysis, Logistics Strategy, or related fields in FMCG/CPG multinationals.
Proven leadership in owning analytical workstreams or modelling deliveries that inform strategic decisions.
Advanced modelling experience using tools such as Coupa Llamasoft.
Strong capability in E2E cost reconciliation and bridging operational vs. financial views.
Highly advanced data manipulation skills (Expert Excel/VBA/Python/SQL) to cleanse and structure large, complex data sets.
Track record of presenting analytical recommendations to senior, non‑technical audiences.

Presentation & Storytelling: Capable of synthesising complex modelling outputs into compelling, executive‑level narratives.
