Supply Chain Intern

Role Summary:

The candidate should be self-motivated, have strong written and verbal communications skills, be able to manage their time efficiently and work well both individually and in a team environment. Candidates should be in their junior or senior year within the Haworth College of Business majoring in Supply Chain Management. Also considered candidates may be majoring in Engineering with interest in Supply Chain. The ideal candidate would be available to start immediately working 20-25 hours per week during school and up to 40 hours during summer. Preferred candidate will be available to work part-time daily Monday thru Friday. 

Intern duties may include but are not limited to:

• Work effectively with all cross functional areas (planning, manufacturing, engineering, order management and distribution) to manage outside-processing needs.
• Generation of daily purchase orders for direct product and outside processing material adhering to supply chain metrics and reporting tools to track progress and drive improvement.
• Perform product market tests and quote analysis to provide sourcing recommendations.
• Assist the buyers with expediting, order acknowledgements, pricing validation and process improvement.
• Assist commodity mangers with project identification, management and analysis. 

Requirements:

• Microsoft Office proficiency is required with an emphasis on understanding Excel.
