JOB PURPOSE
Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better world. The role will be responsible to ensuring reliability and accuracy of all financial and secondly non-financial information on stocks (RM, PM &FG), fixed assets and all SC Indirect related costs in the entire process. Proactively identify all costs, issues and risk involving stocks and SCI, and inform on its impact on business results. Reconciliation of all critical financial control accounts related to this area of responsibility to drive growth.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
1) Ensure robust governance and control systems are adhered to.
Ensure adequate controls and financial hygiene of all areas in Supply Chain, including managing reviews and interaction with auditors during +5 audits during a year.
Ensure integrity of balance sheet and income statement with appropriate levels of checks and balances.
Drive delivery of timely and accurate reporting requirements
Ensure Unilever Standard Chart of Accounts compliance
Ensure stock controls compliant with SOX
Ensure journals, write offs and provisions are done in accordance with Schedule of Authority.
2) Manage budgets and stock flows and balances.
Ensure annual budgets done and standard product costing aligned to global product costing guidelines for Unilever factories.
Ensure master data information is updated correctly for products sourced from 3P/ Collaborative Manufacturing sites
Variance analysis of budget/forecast over and under spends done monthly.
Drive stock take process and variance analysis of waste.
Ensure SAP stock errors are understood and corrected.
Drive cost reductions in order to meet R/ton targets.
Drive stock days on hand down through analysis and reporting.
Manage stock in various locations on site and off site at third parties.
Provide financial business cases for different options of sourcing.
3) Perform material usage variance analysis & report on variances for the month to drive corrective action
4) Manage Business Waste:
Manage Budget transfers for BW.
Do ensure the review of Business waste (RM, PM, SFG and Engineering stocks)
Ensure proper control from stage of early identification, classification and provisioning as per global guidelines.
Find opportunities across materials and market
Deliver Net productivity target for the business.
Continuously benchmark internally and externally to ensure country Cost base is competitive.
Ensure trackability of OH savings, including from productivity & hold country LT accountable
5) Performance Management and Reporting:
Assist the SC Finance Manager Ethiopia with necessary information regarding Materials and inventory in terms Performance Management.
Prepare Power-point presentation as and when required for different Business performance calls.
Ensure bringing opportunity in the table to effectively guide the business.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Management/Financial Accounting experience in an FMCG business.
Strong knowledge and practical experience in the application of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word tools.
Decision Support and Analytical Skills.
Performance Monitoring and Management of Business Planning Processes
Good knowledge/hands on SAP.
Accounting graduate & Chartered Accountant
Experiences & Qualifications
Necessary Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience, including team leadership and change management
Broad experience and understanding of Supply Chain Finance processes
Experience in regional / global roles interacting virtually with stakeholders across multiple locations
Deep understanding of Product Costing process
Prior experience in SC Finance (e.g. Factory, Manufacturing, Logistics or Procurement Finance, Product Costing is preferential)
Financial Accounting Expertise mainly for Cost Accruals, release and provisioning
English fluency (Business level)
Qualification
Degree in Accounting/Finance
Professional Degree like CPA, CA, ACCA will be considered as an advantage
