Role Description:

Amentum is recruiting for the position of Supply Chain Coordinator in Brisbane Australia. Supply Chain Coordinator will oversee the logistics and operations of food services for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Full Line Food Distribution in Australia. This role involves managing the supply chain, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring efficient and compliant operations to meet DLA food distribution requirements.

This position reports to and takes directions from Regional Supply Chain Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing various supply chain functions, including, warehouse operations, in-bound and out-bound materials movements, overall material expediting and tracking in accordance with procurement operating procedures and guidelines as well as with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

Supply Chain Coordinator will work closely with warehousing and transportation service providers, customers and vendors for timely deliveries and supports Procurement team with market research and supplier due diligence.

The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision under the direction of the Regional Supply Chain Manager
  • Responsible for the overall supply chain process starting from PO issuance to supplier to final delivery
  • Manage vendor PO trackers and Logistics - Expediting Reports.
  • Manage and track in-bound containers to ensure necessary import paperwork is in place for expeditious clearance and delivery upon arrival at port.
  • Responsible for reporting and resolving potential shortfalls and delivery discrepancies.
  • Manage customer orders and facilitate alternates/substitutes for items not in stock.
  • Coordinate with 3PLs and trucking vendors for conveyance booking and load scheduling.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and negotiation ability
  • Highly organized – Must be able to track many items simultaneously and develop work methods to facilitate tracking and reporting
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and standard commercial procurement practices.
  • Provide guidance to procurement on logistics strategy and delivery terms favorable for the company to meet required delivery deadlines.  
  • Actively manages supplier performance through consistent communication to ensure proper adherence to purchase order terms and conditions.
  • Coordinates with Buyers and Suppliers to resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and receipt documents and invoices, up to and including executing change orders, enforcing liquidated damages, or recommending temporary suspension, in some cases.
  • Plans, organizes, prioritizes, and performs multiple tasks to perform job functions in an orderly, efficient manner.
  • Works professionally in a team environment and independently as necessary
  • Solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices
  • Identifies problems, analyzes alternatives, and develops viable recommendations.
  • Reads, comprehends and interprets written materials of moderate to complex difficulty.
  • Acts with integrity at all times when representing the Company
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Essential requirements:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in Supply Chain coordination / Logistics - expediting and demonstrates familiarity and knowledge of international shipping and cross border trade.
  • Five (5) years’ experience working with MS Office Suite and excellent computer skills.
  • BA/BS degree in business or related field
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage timelines, analyze data, and generate meaningful reports
  • Demonstrated ability to understand purchasing and accounting data
  • Proficiency in MS office Applications, Costpoint ERP platform (experience with similar systems is acceptable)
  • Experience working under an approved Federal Contractor’s Purchasing System (highly desired)
  • Language Skills: Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills.
  • Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective

Desirable requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exposure with FMCG warehouse management, International shipping of FMCG, general cargo and dangerous goods by air / land, logistics coordination skills, thorough understanding of international commercial shipping terms (INCOTERMS), customs process for cross border trades.
  • Good understanding on 3PL operations, warehouse operations.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new tools to problem solving
  • Focus on customer service.
  • Knowledge of local market practices, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work across various functions and disciplines of supply chain management (SCM) and operations.
  • Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrate analytical and research skills.
  • Efficiently and effectively perform the technical requirements.
  • Excellent proactive, verbal and written communication skills and significant attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize effectively and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in operating and supporting Procurement functions and warehouse operations.
  • Experience providing excellent customer services.
  • Rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
  • Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
  • Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information
