Strathcona Resources is actively seeking an entry level Supply Chain Analyst to join our Supply Chain team at our Calgary office.

Reporting to the Team Lead, Supply Chain Operations, the Supply Chain Analyst will perform the day-to-day Supply Chain activities to support the operations across the Business Units.  This position is well suited for an early-career professional looking to develop practical experience in Supply Chain operations within a collaborative team environment.

This role may be offered as either a full-time employee or a contract position. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide procurement support to Strathcona Operations stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into SCM strategies and yearly procurement plans.

  • Plan, facilitate, and evaluate RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and other competitive proposal processes.

  • Creation and management of purchase orders, service orders, and change orders.

  • Leverage buying power to negotiate contracts and achieve preferred pricing or discount formulas.

  • Support the negotiation of commercial items and legal terms and conditions within contracts.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand any such critical timelines to ensure the timely delivery of the goods and services.

  • Solution/resolve such issues or disputes as they arise with Suppliers, ensuring minimal impact on the business.

  • Assist in development and maintenance of Procurement Plans.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, capabilities, and any market trends.

  • Contributions to Corporate Weekly reporting and any other SCM reporting that may be required.

  • Support alignment of teams across disciplines to ensure corporate consistency is maintained.

  • Support all the functional groups in the Operations Supply Chain area.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in Supply Chain, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, utilizing strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong communication and organizational abilities, with a team-oriented mindset.

  • Self –motivated, self-starter, detailed orientated, open-minded and results driven.

  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to prioritize activities, manage competing priorities, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.

  • Any Post Secondary Education, completion or enrollment in the SCMP designation programs are a plus.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft tools, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams etc.

  • Competence in such or similar systems/tools as: Maximo, OpenInvoice, PowerBi and Complyworks
