Come Drive Innovation with Us. We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Analyst to join our team in Smyrna, TN.

This role leverages advanced analytics, automation, and data science to support production scheduling, parts ordering, inventory control, and design change coordination across Nissan’s North American supply chain.

Using Jupyter, Python, SQL, R, Power BI, Power Apps, and cloud‑based tools, the analyst drives process optimization, performance insights, and cost reduction initiatives across the U.S., Mexico, and Japan, with a strong focus on inventory optimization, design change coordination, new model CPU, budgeting, total delivered cost, and operational efficiency.

A Day in the Life

The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.

Data Analytics & Automation (PC):

  • Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Develop Python automation for shortage reporting, inventory modeling, and design-change readiness.

  • Build and enhance Power BI dashboards (inventory KPIs, schedule adherence, ECN readiness, supplier performance).

  • Develop and interpret SQL queries; leverage cloud data platforms (AWS/Snowflake/Azure).

  • Support data democratization to improve business synergy across SCM.

Process Improvement & Operational Engagement:

  • Conduct process flow analyses; recommend solutions to drive efficiency and eliminate waste.

  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and Gemba visits to assess bottlenecks.

  • Support supplier transitions, model launches, and mid-cycle engineering changes.

Scheduling & Parts Ordering (Production Control):

  • Manage daily/weekly production schedules, freeze adherence, and build allocation for stable operations.

  • Execute and optimize domestic/international parts ordering, considering lead time, optimized inventory levels, tariffs, and replenishment parameters.

Inventory Control & Health

  • Manage inventory accuracy, and supplier shipments for assigned commodities.

  • Monitor excess, obsolescence, aging inventory, and lead corrective action plans.

  • Calibrate min/max inventory and reorder points using data-driven modeling and analytics.

Design Change Coordination:

  • Conduct design change risk reviews for obsolescence, liability, and dual-level inventory.

  • Maintain dashboards for design change readiness and align Engineering, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Operations.

Who We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 0 - 2+ years of experience in scheduling, materials planning, inventory control, or analytics in manufacturing plus a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Engineering or related field.

  • Strong Python skills for automation and analytics.

  • Proficiency with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboards).

  • Ability to create and interpret SQL queries, along with familiarity with cloud data platforms.

  • Understanding of MRP/ERP, BOM structures, design change processes.

  • Ability to work on-site in Smyrna, TN.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience coordinating engineering/design change cut-ins at OEM/Tier 1.

  • Experience with Power Automate, SQL modeling, forecasting, simulation, or optimization.

  • Strong communication skills, able to translate complex data for business leaders.
