An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the team in Bangalore as part of our Aerospace Procurement Business at Rolls Royce. Our Procurement Manufacturing Engineering teams support everything the business does in the global supplier enterprise covering the Civil, Business Aviation and Defence sectors. What you will be doing.
In this exciting role, you will work with manufacturing functional teams and external supply chain teams, and influence activity across the enterprise-wide Aerospace Procurement category teams to fulfil activities across a range or areas including.
- Supply Chain Evaluation: Evaluation and assessment of suppliers capabilities and driving the required improvements to meet our needs.
- Industrialisation: Manage industrialisation plans to ensure new product introduction (NPI) and part transfers are fully realised supporting cross-category oversight in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) including development of the enterprise knowledge, skills, use of toolset (Net Inspect and Power BI) and compliance reporting.
- Collaboration: Proactively accessing internal and external networks of technical communities and functional teams including quality, design and project engineering, to ensure fulfilment and realisation of NPI and part transfers, industrialisation, cost and technology programmes.
- Product Cost: Proactively support and drive technical product cost reduction activities to ensure Category and Aerospace Procurement aligned targets are met, including the engagement of key communities to support technical cost out idea generation, programme execution, reporting and securing of resources and funding. Provide support to major strategic cost programmes including BCC (Best Cost Country) sourcing.
- Technology: Provide support and leadership to ensure the success of existing and future technology programs within and aligned to Aerospace Procurement. Act as a key point of contact with central technology teams, specialists, and procurement category teams, driving technology programmes to maturity using TRL.
- Technical: Ensure technical barriers to industrialisation are identified, clearly communicated and support the direct resolution of issues through application of technical resources and support to technical interventions.
- Strategy: Lead, identify and develop opportunities to deliver key business targets through existing strategies, e.g. Zero Defects quality programme, and support and lead the development of new strategic supply chain opportunities.
- Communication: Lead the regular reporting of key industrialisation, cost and technology activities across the Aerospace Procurement organisation to ensure leadership, project and programme customers are engaged and informed
Position requirements
- An engineering degree with minimum 15 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or related environment preferably in Aerospace sector.
- Supply chain leadership experience with working knowledge of industrialisation, cost reduction and technology development programmes.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience using tools and techniques associated with industrialisation and cost reduction programmes in an Aerospace supply chain environment.
- Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting to varied audiences at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong influencing skills are essential part of the role to ensure maximum impact across a global organisation.
- Having good know-how about India aerospace ecosystem and development.
