Purpose Statement: This Supplier Quality Associate role is responsible for updating and maintaining supplier controls in regards to quality and compliance for incoming raw materials and services.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Supports containment, segregation, and review of nonconforming material, and trend analysis processes activities relative to supplied parts.
- Facilitates reporting and notifying suppliers of cost-recovery requirements resulting from the need to contain, segregate or handle nonconforming parts.
- Monitors supplier quality performance metrics, inclusive of product yield and corrective action response rates. Provides necessary supplier feedback to drive supplier performance improvement. Produces supplier metrics to support customer and supplier business reviews.
- Mentors and supports Receiving Inspection activities for the process effectiveness.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree with 6 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
Other Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge in areas of lot acceptance, sampling methodologies, MSA/GR&R, and Blue print reading.
- Ability to use basic hand gages including caliper, micrometer, thread gages, and plug gages.
Physical Requirements:
- Role will support operational teams in a manufacturing environment with required personal protective equipment. Facilities include comfortable temperatures, repetitive low noise level and suitable lighting for required tasks. May require walking, standing and sitting, using a computer, and other office equipment. Direct interaction with people and equipment is event driven and will include activities related to inspecting, qualifying, troubleshooting and improving jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing methods using different types of components or material. Role may require working individually on tasks with a prolonged focus on written material, working collectively as part of a team of various disciplines and backgrounds and working in multiple software systems.
