Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced or Senior Supplier Development Specialist to join our Supplier Development and Supply Chain Strategy team in Everett, Washington!

The Supplier Development Specialist partners with Supply Chain, Category Strategy, Engineering, Quality, and Global Field Operations to develop supplier capabilities and improve supplier long-term performance. This role leads supplier assessments, roadmap development, capability development, and implementation of technology and process innovations to improve resilience and stability at current and new suppliers. This role is critical to supply chain stability and to deliver high-quality parts to our production system.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier readiness with clear development milestones, process validation, and business-model alignment
  • Track supplier progress using KPIs, regular meetings, and targeted development strategies
  • Conduct assessments and audits using the Standard Supplier Assessment Tool and category-specific criteria
  • Identify capability gaps, prioritize corrective actions, and manage CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) to closure
  • Design and execute supplier development roadmaps with owners, deadlines, and resource plans
  • Coordinate cross-functional co-development activities across sourcing, engineering, quality, and ops
  • Apply lean tools such as VSM (Value Stream Mapping), Kaizens, 5S, etc. to improve flow, reduce waste, and raise throughput
  • Implement capability-building actions and training to sustain process improvements
  • Evaluate supplier operational and financial models to identify risks and continuity concerns
  • Recommend and implement mitigation and stabilization plans, including diversification and regional engagement
  • Drive adoption of advanced technologies and integrate tech milestones into supplier roadmaps
  • Develop and deliver targeted supplier training with supplier accountability for capability improvements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 6+ years’ experience with supplier development, supplier quality, manufacturing, or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or heavy manufacturing
  • Strong project management skills and experience coordinating cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Travel 25 – 50% annually

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 4: 8+ years’ experience with supplier development, supplier quality, manufacturing, or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or heavy manufacturing
  • Familiarity with supplier financial/business model assessments and risk mitigation strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier audits, value-stream mapping, root-cause analysis, etc.
  • Experience building and executing supplier development roadmaps and cross-functional programs
  • Experience developing supplier training curricula and delivering learning programs
  • Experience with geopolitical/regional supplier strategy and ecosystem development
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Summary Pay Range:

Experienced - Level 3: $106,250 - $143,750

Senior - Level 4: $130,050 - $175,950
