Job Summary: The Supervisory Store Associate serves as the second line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. The incumbent is fully responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations. Major Duties:

  • Directs the following work in multiple areas of the commissary. Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control. Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves. Meat display and case stocking. Produce inspection display and rotation. Qualifications: You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, superior academic achievement, or a combination of experience and education to qualify. Experience: One (1) year of demonstrated specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Examples of specialized experience include: Plans, directs, or assigns work for employees. Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers. Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations. You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) basic requirement and qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
